The rest — every sentence, the teacher's notes, the conversations and listening with the screen locked — is App Pro, €9.99 a month. Buy it inside the app under Pro, and cancel whenever you like.
Open Manage subscription and enter the email you paid with; Stripe sends you a code to sign in. There you can cancel, change your card and download receipts. The same link is in the app, under Pro. When you cancel, Pro stays on until the end of the month you have paid for.
Yes — a free one, with just an email and a password. There is no card and nothing to cancel.
It is what makes your stars and saved sentences survive a new phone, follow you across devices, and put you on the leaderboard.
Not yet. The app runs in your browser and the audio streams as you play it, so you need a connection. Stars you give while the signal drops are kept and sync when it comes back. Downloading islands for offline use is planned.
The leaderboard and your inbox need a connection, since both are about other people.
Tap the stars on any sentence to say how well you know it. One star means it is new to you; five means you have it.
Rate honestly. Everything on the Stats and Badges screens is built from those stars, so inflating them only gives you a review list that skips the sentences you actually need.
Points are worked out from what you have done: starring a sentence, taking one to five stars, finishing an island, saving a sentence, and turning up on separate days. The Badges screen shows the exact breakdown, so the number is never a mystery.
Nothing is awarded separately — a badge is just a question asked of your real numbers.
Yes. Account → Username. Lowercase letters, numbers and underscores, three to twenty characters. Other learners only ever see that name and your points — never your email.
Want off the leaderboard entirely? Email us and we will remove you. Nothing else stops working.

Corrections usually reach the app within a day, without you needing to update anything.
Yes. All 64 islands have every sentence recorded by a native voice. You can slow it down, repeat each line, and play a whole island hands-free — with the English read aloud after each sentence if you switch that on in practice settings.
Sign in with the same email on both. Stars, saved sentences and progress merge automatically — the most recent change to any sentence wins, so practising on your phone and then your tablet does not lose anything.
Account → Delete account, at the bottom. It removes your sign-in, your stars, your saved sentences and your leaderboard entry permanently. There is a confirmation step, and no way back afterwards.

Yes — private one-to-one lessons over video, separate from the app. Tell him about your Norwegian and he will write back with an honest read of where you are.
