Norwegian Saga is run by Even Svendsen from Hestestien 7, 1555 Son, Norway. Email hello@norwegiansaga.no.
Booking a lesson means you accept these terms. If you are under 18, a parent or guardian books for you and pays.
Private Norwegian lessons with Even, live over video. Each lesson is 50 minutes. There is no fixed syllabus — lessons are built around your level and what you need Norwegian for.
On a monthly or three-month plan you can keep the same time slot each week, held for you — and move it whenever you need to, under section 4.
What we cannot promise is a result. Whether you reach B2 or pass an exam depends a great deal on the work you do between lessons.
| Plan | Lessons | Price |
|---|---|---|
| One lesson | 1 | €35 |
| One month | 4 | €120 |
| Three months | 12 | €300 |
One lesson a week is the usual rhythm, and the deadline in section 4 is what actually governs. Two lessons a week means twice the lessons and twice the price. The per-lesson rate stays the same. Three or more a week, ask us and we will quote you.
Teaching is exempt from Norwegian VAT, so there is no tax on top. The price you see is the price you pay.
You pay before the lessons happen, for the whole plan at once. Payment goes through Stripe — your card details go straight to them, and we never see them.
Lessons you have bought are yours to book when they suit you, within a deadline: one month for a single lesson or a one-month plan, and three months for the three-month plan, counted from the day you pay. We email you 14 days and 3 days before anything is about to run out, so nothing disappears quietly.
Most people keep the same slot every week because it is the thing that actually makes it happen, but that is a habit, not a rule.
On the three-month plan you can also pause once for up to four weeks. Tell us a week ahead and the deadline moves by the same amount.
You can stop whenever you like. No fee, no notice period, no awkwardness. Lessons you have already paid for stay yours until their deadline. Nothing renews on its own — we always ask first.
If you paid for three months up front and stop halfway, we recalculate the lessons you took at the one-month rate of €30 and refund the rest. Six lessons taken means €180 kept and €120 back. The three-month price is a discount for staying three months, so it is fair that leaving early puts you back on the shorter rate.
On a one-month plan the rate is already €30, so there is nothing to recalculate: we refund the lessons you did not take. A single lesson you have not taken is refunded in full.
This is what happens once the first 14 days have passed. Inside those 14 days the law gives you something better, and section 6 applies instead.
Because you are buying online, Norwegian law gives you 14 days to cancel without giving a reason. The 14 days start the day you book.
Most people want to start straight away, which is fine — you keep the right to cancel, you just pay for the lessons you actually had. Email hello@norwegiansaga.no and we refund the rest within 14 days, to the card you paid with.
Here we charge for those lessons at the rate of the plan you bought, not a higher one. On the three-month plan that is €25 a lesson, because €300 divided by twelve is €25 — not the €30 in section 5. Two lessons taken out of twelve means we keep €50 and refund €250.
An email saying you have changed your mind is enough. If you would rather use the standard form the law provides, copy the block below, fill it in and send it to hello@norwegiansaga.no.
Withdrawal form (complete and return only if you wish to withdraw from the contract)
To: Norwegian Saga, Even Svendsen, Hestestien 7, 1555 Son, Norway — hello@norwegiansaga.no
I/we hereby give notice that I/we withdraw from my/our contract for the following service: ____________________________________
Ordered on: ______________
Name of consumer: ____________________________________
Address of consumer: ____________________________________
Signature of consumer (only if this form is sent on paper): ______________
Date: ______________
Worksheets and homework we give you are yours to use for your own learning, forever. Please do not resell them or use them to teach other people for money. Recording a lesson needs our agreement first.
The Norwegian Saga app is free to start and has its own privacy policy. App Pro opens all of it for €9.99 a month, paid in advance through our payment provider. It renews each month until you cancel; you can cancel at any time, and it runs to the end of the month you have paid for. You have 14 days from your first payment to change your mind for a full refund — write to hello@norwegiansaga.no. Norwegian Saga Pro (section 9) includes App Pro. Lessons do not include Pro, and Pro does not include lessons.
Lessons are a working relationship, and we expect ordinary politeness both ways. We may end a lesson, or stop teaching you altogether, if someone is abusive or threatening — and we refund what is unused. You look after your own internet, device and somewhere quiet to talk.
If we cancel — illness, technology failing at our end — you choose: another lesson at a time that suits you, or your money back for that one. Lessons we could not deliver never expire. If a lesson is cut short by a problem on our side, we make up the time.
If you are unhappy, email us first; most things are a misunderstanding we can fix the same day. If that does not work, the Norwegian Consumer Council (Forbrukerrådet) mediates for free. Otherwise Norwegian courts apply, and as a consumer you can always bring a claim where you live.
Our responsibility is limited to what you paid us over the last twelve months. We are not responsible for knock-on losses like a failed exam or a visa decision. Nothing here removes rights the law gives you, and nothing limits our responsibility for injury caused by our negligence.
If we change these terms, the version that applies is the one published when you booked. Anything that materially affects a plan you are on, we email you 30 days ahead and you can stop before it starts. A price change never touches a plan you have already paid for.
Norwegian Saga Family is our online community, and joining it is free: it gives you the community, two Saga PDFs and messages to Even. Norwegian Saga Pro is the paid membership on top of it: the Saga Classroom (video courses, released stage by stage), Pro in the Norwegian Saga app, every Saga PDF and the rest of the community. Joining either means you accept this section and the Family guidelines. You must be 18 or older, or have a parent or guardian's permission.
Pro is $34.99 a month or $349.90 a year, paid in advance for each period. The Family itself costs nothing. The price shown at checkout is the price you pay, including any VAT or sales tax. Payment goes through our payment provider, and we never see your card details.
It renews automatically at the end of each month or year, at the same price, until you cancel. We remind you before a yearly Pro membership renews.
Price changes. A price change is announced at least 30 days ahead and never applies to a period you have already paid for.
You can cancel Pro at any time, and nothing more is charged after that. Cancelling takes effect at the end of the period you have paid for; you keep Pro until then, and you stay in the free Family. A period that has started is not refunded part-way, except as described below.
You have 14 days from your first Pro payment to change your mind, for a full refund — even if you have already started using Pro. Write to hello@norwegiansaga.no (or use the form in section 6) and we refund the whole amount within 14 days, to the card you paid with. Pro ends when the refund is made. Renewals are not refundable, except where the law says otherwise.
The Classroom courses are released stage by stage while you have Pro; their content and order may change as they are written. If we ever closed Pro, we would tell members at least 30 days ahead, stop all renewals, and refund the unused part of any yearly membership. The PDFs you have downloaded are yours to keep.
One account is for one person. Please do not share your login, and do not share or resell the courses, videos or PDFs — they are for your own learning. The same account signs you in to the Family and the app.
The Family is a safe place to learn, and the guidelines are part of these terms. Breaking them the first time gets a warning; breaking them again closes the membership permanently. Serious cases — threats, targeted abuse, sexual content, or sharing the paid material — can close it at once. A Pro membership closed for breaking the guidelines stops renewing at once, and the current period is not refunded — unless it happens inside the 14 days after your first payment, in which you could have changed your mind anyway.
What you write in the Family stays yours. You give us permission to show it to other members inside the Family, and to remove anything that breaks the guidelines. We do not use members' posts outside the Family without asking.
We work to keep the Family running, but it is an online service and may sometimes be down for maintenance or because a supplier fails. Section 8 applies to the Family as well: our responsibility is limited to what you paid, and nothing here removes rights the law gives you as a consumer.
